After-School ProgramDuring the 2000-2001 school year, members of Water Theatre Company and guest instructors taught an after-school program to students at Public School #6 on the Upper East Side. The acting class consisted of 10-15 students and covered the basics of improvisation using Theater Games based on Viola Spolin's technique. On the final class of the 12-week programs, the students performed in front of family and teachers.The primary age students focused on the art of storytelling in theater. Using forms of literature including personal poems and stories, classic childrens books, and selections from Shakespeare, the performers dramatized their work through physical and verbal expression within an ensemble.
